About The Artist.
Rose Ox is an Ontarian artist, currently in her fourth year of the BFA program at the University of Ottawa, with a minor in English Creative writing. Art has been a part of Ox’s life since she was a child, used as a form of entertainment while she was battling the loneliness and anxiety from a nomadic childhood. Arts and crafts became a replacement for friends and after school activities, and led Ox to years of experimenting with multiple mediums, including; painting and drawing, sewing, jewellery making, videography and photography.
As an abstract painter, inspired by impressionism and exploring landscapes through collages that push the limits of reality, her practice explores the themes of creativity and child-like imagination that she rediscovered from her childhood, while raising her niece and seeing life through her eyes.

Today, Ox is an amateur vlogger, who documents her daily life and art practice, from start to finish, and videographer, creating process time lapses of her finished works. Her practice is rooted in fine arts and crafts, where she creates vivid works in multimedia, that tell stories of characters of her own creation, as well as scenes of landscapes and nature.
